As part of the launch of the Indigenous Peoples Inspiring Sustainable Development book at Library and Archives Canada on July 13, 2026, the Voices of Future Generations Children's Initiative (VoFG CI) was honoured to present a special showcase highlighting its work to empower Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and youth through storytelling, education, and human rights.

The presentation featured VoFG CI's growing collection of Indigenous publications, including Finding the Language by Adelyn Newman-Ting, The Brothers' Reunion and Coming Back Home by Sydnee Wynter Amie Nisyok; The Land Before Us and The Forest of Friendship by Vienna Swampy.

The showcase also highlighted the Futures 2026 anthology, produced in partnership with the Global Youth Council on Science, Law, and Sustainability (GYC), a global collection of award-winning stories and creative works by young people imagining more just, inclusive, and sustainable futures. Bringing together short stories, artwork, articles, and photography by contributors aged 8–18 from around the world, the anthology proudly includes four stories by Indigenous authors from the VoFG CI program.

Together, these publications demonstrate the power of children's voices to advance reconciliation, celebrate Indigenous cultures and knowledge, promote human rights, and inspire action toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Bringing together authors, legal scholars, Indigenous leaders, educators, and community members, the event underscored the essential role that young people play in shaping a more just, inclusive, and sustainable future while highlighting the strong connections between children's voices, Indigenous rights, and the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
