FUTURES ANTHOLOGIES
The Futures Anthologies are a global collection of stories and creative works by young people imagining more just, inclusive, and sustainable futures. Bringing together award-winning short stories alongside artwork, articles, and photography, the series showcases the voices of contributors aged 8–18 from across continents.
Through a rich blend of science fiction, fantasy, realism, and cultural storytelling, Futures explores some of the most pressing challenges of our time, including climate change, environmental protection, gender equality, cultural identity, and social justice. The stories transform global issues into lived experiences, following young protagonists who confront injustice, protect their communities, and create innovative solutions for a better world.
At its heart, the series highlights the power of youth creativity and perspective. Many narratives center on resilience, environmental stewardship, intergenerational knowledge, and the courage to act—demonstrating how small actions can inspire broader change.
Published by the Voices of Future Generations Children’s Initiative in collaboration with The Global Youth Council on Science, Law, and Sustainability, the Futures serve as both a literary platform and a call to action, inviting young people to share their ideas and reminding readers that the future is already being shaped by the voices of the next generation.
